WALTERS HOMES WINS 7 NEW JERSEY BUILDERS ASSOCIATION SAM AWARDS

Whispering Hills Named 2010 Winner for Attached Community of the Year

BARNEGAT, N.J., April 19, 2010 – Walters Homes, the homebuilding division of Walters Group, was recently honored by the New Jersey Builders Association at its 23rd annual Sales and Marketing (SAM) Awards gala. The developer received seven awards including a grand award for Attached Community of the Year for its Whispering Hills development, as well as four individual merit awards. The event was attended by 400 homebuilding industry professionals and was held at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, Atlantic City.

SAM Awards recognize excellence in residential design and marketing programs, and honor the builders and their associates who have made major contributions to the home-building industry in New Jersey. Walters Homes won awards in seven categories for its sales and marketing efforts at Whispering Hills. In addition to the coveted grand award for Attached Community of the Year, Whispering Hills garnered the Best Logo Design for an Attached Community, Best Black & White Ad over one-quarter page, Best Sales Office 800 square feet or less, Best Signage Program, Best Attached Home for a Community under $350,000, and Best Green Construction.

Three Walters Homes employees received merit awards for their individual achievements. Pamela Schuster was recognized with a Marketing Director of the Year merit award for her marketing efforts at the corporate level and for her work on Ocean Acres at Barnegat and Whispering Hills. Laurie McManus received two merit awards,   for Sales Person of the Year, and a Million Dollar Club Award for sales in the $15 million to $20 million category. Additionally, Danielle Edreff received a merit award for Options Sales at Ocean Acres at Barnegat and Whispering Hills.

Whispering Hills is a townhouse community situated on 85 wooded acres in southern Ocean County. The eco-friendly townhouses are registered with a certification goal of LEED® Silver. A 28-acre tree preservation area sits within the community, adding value and contributing to the overall health of the ecosystem. When completed, Whispering Hills will encompass a 258-unit “green” development, consisting of 107 townhouses, 99 single-family homes, and 52 rental apartments.

Walters’ other residential projects include Ocean Acres at Barnegat, a single-family luxury residential community; and Stafford Park Apartments, a mixed-use redevelopment registered with a certification goal of LEED® Silver.
