Walters Group Team Raises Over $2,500 for Cancer Research
16th Annual Relay for Life Held at Southern Regional High School
Barnegat, N.J., Jun. 14, 2016– The Walters Group team joined the fight against cancer in the 16th annual Relay for Life, raising over $2,500. The six-member team gathered for the overnight event held at Southern Regional High School.
"This is more than just a fundraiser – it’s an opportunity to bring people together and give hope to those affected by cancer. Each year we form a team to join the fight and we hope our involvement inspires others to do the same," said Ed Walters, Jr., founder of Walters Group, who participated in the event along with his son, Matthew-Gaudet Walters, sales associate; and his brother Greg Walters.
Other Walters participants were Cindy Peer, IT/telecommunications administrator; Myra Hamilton, community manager at Stafford Park Apartments; and Terri Morrelli, warranty manager.
This is the team’s 14th year participating in Relay for Life. The event is the culmination of fund-raising efforts held throughout the year. The team has received support from vendors, contractors, local retailers and the community.
The Walters Group will continue to accept donations until August 31. Supporters can make donations by sending checks or money orders made out to the American Cancer Society and mailed to the Walters Group, Attention: Terri Morelli, 500 Barnegat Blvd. North, Building #100, Barnegat, NJ 08005.
